Gulf Insurance Group-Kuwait (GIG-Kuwait), the leading provider of insurance services in Kuwait, announced the signing of a health insurance sponsor agreement with Kuwait Olympic Committee, whereby the insurance company is to provide healthcare insurance services to national athletes who compete in individual and group sports. The insurance is against sports injuries and includes examination, diagnosis and complete treatment. The agreement comes to enhance Kuwait’s sports image and encourage players to practice and make more achievements.
The signing ceremony took place during a press conference held at the Committee headquarters. The agreement was signed by the Chairman of Gulf Insurance & Reinsurance Company (GIG-Kuwait), Mr. Khaled Saud Al-Hasan, and the President of the Kuwait Olympic Committee, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah. The event was attended by top GIG executives, as well as leading Kuwaiti athletes and sports enthusiasts.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Al-Hasan said: "The one-year agreement comes into effect this month, and accordingly GIG-Kuwait will provide exclusive health insurance coverage for 263 players from the Kuwait Olympic Committee. The athletes will undergo medical examination, diagnosis and treatment in case of injury, reflecting the quality of the insurance services provided by the Group.”
Al-Hasan added that he was delighted with this prestigious sponsorship in line with gulf insurance social corporate responsibility, which he said is an important step for GIG-Kuwait, which will be covering the players while competing locally and internationally.
On the other hand, Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah said: "The Kuwait Olympic Committee extends its thanks and gratitude to Gulf Insurance Group for their initiative in providing health insurance services to Kuwaiti athletes, and I say to my fellow players and sons, I hope that this initiative will be a luminous imprint on your journey and a breakthrough that meets your aspirations and expectations towards a bright future. Finally, Mr. Al-Hasan extended his thanks to Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah and all the members of the Kuwait Olympic Committee for organizing this ceremony and their efforts in ensuring that Kuwaiti athletes represent Kuwait in the best possible manner in both local and international forums.
